This section’s slowly turning into a list of tools and links I have stumbled across throughout my various research and learning. And since I find them useful, I thought I’d share for your benefit. (Also some of you have actually requested this info on Live)

Below are two links that help cut down on junk mail. Both are services that I have personally enrolled in. It drastically cuts down on your mail and makes it easier to manage.

Some marketing material does sneak through on occasion, but overall, I don’t get that much mail now. 😁

Research & Finds

🧾 1. Stop the Credit Card Mail Offers

Site: OptOutPrescreen.com
(Click on this link. Then you will need to scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click “Opt-In or Opt-Out”.)

What it does: Removes your name from the national list that banks and credit card companies use to send “pre-approved” offers.

Who runs it: The major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis).

Cost: Free.
Online opt-out = 5 years
Permanent opt-out = mail in a signed form (they’ll give you the PDF)
(I personally haven’t done this step myself… I have been lazy 😅)

📬 2. Stop Catalogs & Marketing Mail

Site: DMAchoice.org
(This link is to the FTC official government website. Click on “Go to Link”, which redirects you to the service provider in question from the FTC website.)

What it does: Lets you choose which types of marketing mail you still want (or none at all) — catalogs, charity mailings, magazine offers, etc.

Who runs it: The ANA (Association of National Advertisers), a legit trade group that manages national mailing lists.

Cost: $4 one-time fee (covers you for 10 years).
